Support the Library
Burton Barr Central Library is the flagship of Phoenix Public Library. It is our single largest service point to the greater Phoenix area with approximately 500,000 items for check out and over 1 million visitors a year. Fifty-seven thousand people attended 2,160 programs last year. With the temporary, indefinite closure of Burton Barr Central Library, the 16 other library locations within the system are stepping up to meet the increased need so that our community can continue to rely upon us to be "the library" as they have come to expect. Scheduling of our regular programs for children, teens and families will be increased. The best way to help Phoenix Public Library while we do what is needed to bring Burton Barr Central Library back to full service is to work with our two support organizations: The Friends of the Phoenix Public Library and the Phoenix Public Library Foundation. Both of these organizations closely coordinate with us to bring high quality library programs to the community.
