The use of a personal firewall may prevent your access to some Phoenix Public Library electronic resources, such as databases.

These resources are licensed products paid for by the Phoenix Public Library; customers are required to authenticate with a valid library card account prior to gaining access. To access a database while using a personal firewall, you must ensure that referring URLs are allowed by disabling browser privacy.

The Library's website has been tested with the latest versions of Norton Internet Professional and McAfee Internet Security Suite.

Supported Browsers

This website has been designed to work on an array of devices and platforms. It should be viewable on any current browser running on any current platform. For additional viewing problems see here.

Some resources supplied by our vendors may require the most current desktop versions of popular web browsers, including Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox or Safari.


Session cookies must be enabled by your browser.  The new library website utilizes a temporary cookie to store information pertaining to your current session. Please check with your browser's help pages to enable session cookies if necessary.


Javascript is required by the new site. Javascript supports the display of various links on the new website. Javascript is primarily used for form field authentication and displaying ancillary windows for additional information.
