​Interlibrary Loan 

​Interlibrary Loan Department is unavailable until further notice.  We are unable to process any requests at this time.

If you have Interlibrary Loan materials that you would like to return, you may place them in a book drop at any Phoenix Public Library location, with the exception of Burton Barr Central Library and South Mountain Community Library.  Book drops are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  You will not be charged any overdue fees.

To return Interlibrary Loan materials to Burton Barr Central Library, please bring them during Curbside Service hours. Burton Barr Central Library's automated book drop will reject items that do not belong to Phoenix Public Library.   

South Mountain Community Library remains closed until further notice.

We are unable to provide a check-in receipt.


Fees

​Phoenix Public Library does not charge for interlibrary loan services and is able to fill most requests through other non-charging libraries. Some libraries, however, do charge fees of $15 or more. These costs are passed on to the borrower.  Please note: We cannot accept personal or business checks.

​​Recommend to eLibrary

Would you be willing to use an eBook in order to obtain your title more quickly?  If so, see if your title is available for purchase in the Greater Phoenix Digital Library.  eBooks recommended for the GPDL collection can be available in digital format usually within 2-3 days and can be read for up to 2 weeks on your computer or device. To see if your title is available, search the GPDL collection and follow the instructions below.  Learn more about getting started with Greater Phoenix Digital Library. 

Suggesting a Title

  1. After you search for something in the Greater Phoenix Digital Library collection​, click or tap the Don't see the digital titles you were hoping to find? box or select Additional Titles to Recommend in the search filters. 
  2. To recommend a title, mouse over it (or tap it, on a mobile device) and select the Recommend button. ​
  3. When you select Recommend, a new page will open where you can choose to be notified or placed on the holds list if the library purchases the title. ​
  4. You can view a list of titles you've recommended under your Account > Lists > Titles you recommended.
