Meeting Rooms​


​Meeting Rooms at Burton Barr Central Library

Burton Barr Central Library has four meeting rooms, which may be rented during normal library hours.  Varying in capacity from 26 to 250 people, each room has multiple seating configurations.

The Pulliam Auditorium is located on the northeast side of the first floor.  The most common seating configurations are: 250 for theater seating; 72 for classroom seating; and 126 for restaurant seating.  There are 250 chairs, 24 rectangular tables, and 18 round tables available with rental of the room.  The cost for renting the auditorium during normal library hours is $125 an hour with a minimum 4-hour rental.

The Lecture Room is located on the southwest side of the fourth floor and has several seating configurations: 75 for theater seating and 40 for classroom seating.  There are 75 chairs and 10 rectangular tables available with rental of the room; each table seats four people.  The cost for renting the Lecture Room during normal library hours is $30 an hour. 

 

Two small meeting rooms are located on the northwest side of the first floor.  Meeting Rooms A and B have two seating configurations: 26 for theater seating and 10 for classroom seating.  Twenty-six chairs and 5 tables are available with rental of the room; each table seats 2 people.  The cost for renting Meeting Room A or B during normal library hours is $10 an hour. 

 

After-Hours Rentals

Image of guests at Dinner in the Stacks 2011The Pulliam Auditorium and several floors of Central Library may be rented when the Library is closed.  Rental fees vary, with a minimum 4-hour flat fee; thereafter, fees are calculated in hourly increments.
Pulliam Auditorium - $790
First Floor - $2,800
Second Floor - $2,890
Fifth Floor - $2,770
All of the above - $4,075
 
In addition, there is a security fee of $30 per hour (minimum 3 hours).
 
After-hours reservations may be made up to six months in advance.  One-half of the rental fee is required with the initial reservation for all after-hours bookings; the balance is due 14 days prior to the event.  If serving alcohol, a permit and administrator approval are required.

​Branch Meeting Rooms

Meeting rooms are available at all 16 branch library locations. Currently, most meeting rooms are available to rent for $5 per hour and can hold a varying number of people.  Effective January 1, 2015 meeting room rates will increase. Depending on the size of the room and requested amenities, room rates will range from $5 to $15 per hour.

Please contact the Call Center at 602-262-4636 to be connected to the library where you wish to hold your meeting.  Library staff will check meeting room availability.  You will need to visit the library to book the room.
