Jeriann's Not Boring Documentaries

Jeriann's Non-Boring DocumentariesMeet Jeriann: Hi, My name is Jeriann and I started my life in libraries as a 13 year old teen volunteer. My favorite things in life include: running with my dogs, spicy food, being crafty, green smoothies and the book series "The Best American Science Writing." I love working in libraries because I get to learn something new every day. Currrently, my job is Collection Development, Electronic Resources, which means I select databases and e-content for the library and our customers.

Meet her list: Why documentaries? Well... people are strange. Over the past few years, exploitative television shows have popped up all over cable television documenting secret addictions, hoarding tendencies and the world of child pageantry. Honey Boo Boo, anyone? These programs are out for shock value, to highlight the more extreme characteristics that exist in members of our society. I like documentaries that go in the other direction, that demonstrate our similarities despite differences in upbringing, education level, etc. Most of these documentaries take you into the lives of very ordinary people in unusual settings or circumstances.
