Vehicle and Appliance Repair
Established to meet both the needs of the do-it-yourselfer and professional service person, the vehicle and appliance repair reference collection contains information to assist in the repair, maintenance, modification or restoration of vehicles and the repair and maintenance of appliances and electronic products. Resources include more than 3,500 books and manuals, more than 400 volumes of SAMS Photofacts and several online databases. The vehicle reference collection consists of general, system and specialized manuals. These include shop manuals for cars and trucks, general car manuals and truck repair publications; manuals for electrical, emission, air conditioning/heating, transmission and diesel; and manuals for recreational vehicles, tractors, small engines, watercraft, motorcycles, flat rate and interchange. Mitchell On Demand, the online database for vehicle repair, is available at all Phoenix Public Libraries. The repair information covers 1983 to current for domestic and import cars and light trucks with more than 70,000 illustrations and technical service bulletins. Printing is available at 20 cents per page. SAMS Photofacts provides service data, schematics and parts lists for televisions, VCRs, computers and classic radios along with manufacturer's data. Copies may be made at 20 cents a page. Sams is also available online at all Phoenix Public Libraries. The vehicle and appliance repair collection is located on the northeast side of the second floor of the Burton Barr Central Library. All materials must be used in the library.
