College Depot at Burton Barr Central Library provides free year-round programming targeting various topics of the college planning process such as creating a college timeline, preparing scholarship essays, and applying for financial aid. ​

During the academic school year:
Workshops on various topics including college exploration, financial aid, scholarship searching, and more are presented free of charge and open to the public. Registration is required for some programs as seating might be limited.
 
Walk-In Assistance​ offers the opportunity to receive hands-on help with various elements of the college admission​​s and financial aid process with no appointment necessary! Drop-in and get help with FAFSA updates, scholarship searches, "To Do" student portal tasks, and more. Wal​k-in assistance is provided on designated days/times and on a first-come, first served basis.​​​ June Walk-In Assistance sessions may be found here

FAFSA Assistance is provided to students and their families through specialized programming to assist with the FAFSA application and creating FSA IDs through hands-on small groups and workshop sessions during the peak financial aid season. Registration is required for some programs as seating might be limited.

​​reEngage Phoenix Advising Sessions ​offer students who need their high school diplomas or GEDs a chance to get personalized help from staff who will be available to provide information to youth and adults who have not completed high school and de​​​sire to continue their education. Assistance includes help finding GED preparation sites, alternative high schools, and adult online high schools. June Re-Engage Ses​sions are listed here​​​​. La asistencia incluye ayuda para encontrar centros de preparación de GED, escuelas preparatoriasalternativas, y preparatorias en línea para adultos. During the summer:
Free Summer Camps for students entering 8th-12th grades are offered every summer.  Students will meet and spend time with their peers, and learn valuable information about various topics including college preparation, college exploration, financial aid, scholarship searching, and more. They will also hear from guest speakers, play games, and have fun! College Depot will provide snacks. Registration is required as seating might be limited.

College Depot Workshop Room Reservation Request:
Our workshop room is available to be reserved by educational, nonprofit organizations. Fill out this Request Form to reserve this space. Please allow 3-5 business days for a response and also be aware that requests are on a first-come, first served basis. Note: a Gmail account is required to access this form. ACCUPLACER Tutoring Bootcamp6/28/20171:00 PM - 6:30 PMCollege Depot Workshop Room at Burton Barr Central Library

Starting community college this fall? Want to save time, money, and get a free lunch? This free tutoring session is for you! Northbridge College Success Program will be hosting a 4 hour tutoring session at College Depot (lunch provided) for incoming community college students to prepare them for the ACCUPLACER placement tests. These are the tests that all community college students take to determine what level of math, critical reading and writing courses they will start out in.

Higher ACCUPLACER scores means taking fewer classes (up to six classes less) and saves you money for the tuition for each class you test out of ($258 per class). The majority of students who go through this session test out of at least 1 class. That means that a few hours and free lunch can save you at least 60 hours of class time your first semester!
