During the School Year:
Workshops on various topics including college exploration, financial aid, scholarship searching, and more are presented free of charge and open to the public. Registration is required for some programs as seating might be limited. 

FAFSA Assistance 
FAFSA Assistance is provided to students and their families through specialized programming to assist with the FAFSA application and creating FSA IDs through hands-on small groups and workshop sessions during the peak financial aid season. FSA ID labs are held Monday through Thursday from 3:00-5:00PM in September and FAFSA labs are held every Saturday in October. 

College Depot G.R.I.T. (Graduating Ready, Independent & Tenacious)
Designed for first-generation, college college-bound high school seniors, GRIT provides participating students (class of 2021) with a new, more connected type of advising. Our 2021 GRIT seniors will be assigned an advisor to provide direct, virtual support throughout their senior year. GRIT will officially begin the week of September 14th, which will include a virtual orientation session. Once GRIT begins, advisors will meet with their assigned students one-one-one (virtually) to create an individualized senior plan. 

Advisors will check in with students regularly to make sure they are on track and be available for students to contact. Advisors will also assist with essential steps throughout the school year and into next summer. This includes individualized support for completion of FAFSA and college applications, as well as scholarships, financial aid, admissions, and anything else needed to successfully start college in the fall of 2021. Click here for more info and to enroll. During the Summer:
Summer Workshops
Every July, College Depot offers our Summer Sessions, which are FREE, fun-filled programs designed to help students plan for college. Summer Sessions topics have included: Essay Essentials, Scholarships + Financial Aid Essentials, Test Prep Essentials, Study Skills + Organizational Techniques, Postsecondary Pathways, Apprenticeship Essentials, and a Spanish-language session called ¡Caminemos a la Escuela! which is oriented to Spanish-speaking parents. Collegepalooza
Designed for high school graduates entering college to prepare them with tips, hacks, and strategies for a successful freshman year of college. Participants will learn from current and recently graduated college students as well as experienced college access professionals. This session will conclude with a virtual Q&A session from a panel of current college students that will cover what they wish they had known going into their freshman year, what they've learned since, and other related questions fielded virtually from participants. Check back in 2021 to register. Click here to view the recording of the summer 2020 session.  

Summer Bridge Program for 2021 Seniors

There are several steps to complete over the summer to make sure graduating 2020 seniors can start college this fall. This summer College Depot is launching a program to support students with all of these summer steps. Students who participate in this free summer bridge program will be assigned an advisor who will work with them virtually over the summer to make sure they're successful. Registration for the summer of 2021 will open in March of 2021.

Jerome E. Miller Summer Leadership Academy

f you or your student will be in the 11th or 12th grade in Fall 2020, live in the city of Phoenix, and are interested in a career in public service, consider the JEM Leadership Academy, which will occur during June of 2020. Stay tuned for 2020 program dates and application information.

College Depot Workshop Room Reservation Request:
