College Depot at Burton Barr Central Library provides free year-round programming targeting various topics of the college planning process such as creating a college timeline, preparing scholarship essays, and applying for financial aid. 

During the academic School year:
Workshops on various topics including college exploration, financial aid, scholarship searching, and more are presented free of charge and open to the public. Registration is required for some programs as seating might be limited. FAFSA Assistance 
FAFSA Assistance is provided to students and their families through specialized programming to assist with the FAFSA application and creating FSA IDs through hands-on small groups and workshop sessions during the peak financial aid season. Current programming includes dates for College Goal FAFSA, which is a statewide initiative that provides free information and professional assistance to help students and families complete the FAFSA. See the flyer here. Registration is required as seating might be limited. 

 
During the summer:
Summer Workshops
Every July, College Depot offers our Summer Sessions, which are FREE, fun-filled programs designed to help students plan for college. Summer Sessions topics have included: Essay Essentials, Scholarships + Financial Aid Essentials, Test Prep Essentials, Study Skills + Organizational Techniques, Postsecondary Pathways, Apprenticeship Essentials, and a spanish-language session called ¡Caminemos a la Escuela! which is oriented to Spanish-speaking parents.

f you or your student will be in the 11th or 12th grade in Fall 2020, live in the city of Phoenix, and are interested in a career in public service, consider the JEM Leadership Academy, which will occur during June of 2020! Stay tuned for 2020 program dates and application information.

College Depot Workshop Room Reservation Request:
College Depot offers room reservations for three different sized rooms in our center. Room reservations are available to educational non-profit organizations. Please email college.depot@phoenix.gov or call 602.261.8847 for any questions.

Deadlines for the application for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2020-2021 academic year are fast approaching! Drop-in to receive FREE individualized assistance with the application process at College Depot at our family-friendly FAFSA event! College Goal FAFSA is a statewide initiative that provides free information and professional assistance to help students and families complete the FAFSA. Registration is not required, however, you can RSVP to receive a reminder email and/or text for the event.​ Register here.
