College Depot is open!! Due to storm damage, Burton Barr Central Library will be closed as it undergoes repairs. However, we have found a temporary location to offer our services. This location is at the Emmett McLoughlin Community Training & Education Center, which is located at 1150 S. 7th Avenue. Our advisors have resumed taking normal appointments. We apologize for any inconvenience this temporary change in location may cause. Burton Barr Central Library is estimated to reopen in June of 2018. We will make sure to update the public as more information and programming becomes available. Check here for updates.  If you have any questions, email college.depot@phoenix.gov or call 602.261.8847.

College Depot at Burton Barr Central Library provides free year-round programming targeting various topics of the college planning process such as creating a college timeline, preparing scholarship essays, and applying for financial aid. ​

During the academic school year:
Workshops on various topics including college exploration, financial aid, scholarship searching, and more are presented free of charge and open to the public. Registration is required for some programs as seating might be limited.

FAFSA Assistance 
FAFSA Assistance is provided to students and their families through specialized programming to assist with the FAFSA application and creating FSA IDs through hands-on small groups and workshop sessions during the peak financial aid season. Registration is required for some programs as seating might be limited. 

​​reEngage Phoenix Advising Sessions 
reEngage Phoenix Advising Sessions ​offer students who need their high school diplomas or GEDs a chance to get personalized help from staff who will be available to provide information to youth and adults who have not completed high school and de​​​sire to continue their education. Assistance includes help finding GED preparation sites, alternative high schools, and adult online high schools. Call 602.261.8847 or email college.depot@phoenix.gov to set up an appointment for a reEngage Phoenix advising session. 


During the summer:
Free Summer Camps for students entering 8th-12th grades are offered every summer.  Students will meet and spend time with their peers, and learn valuable information about various topics including college preparation, college exploration, financial aid, scholarship searching, and more. They will also hear from guest speakers, play games, and have fun! College Depot will provide snacks. Registration is required as seating might be limited.

Advanced FAFSA Training: Training for Community Members9/29/20171:00 - 3:00 PM Phoenix Union High School District Offices:  4502 N. Central Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85012 CEE Training Room.

This FAFSA training is for professionals who work with youth and adults, NOT for individuals needing help applying for FAFSA. Educators and professionals who participate cover in greater detail more difficult FAFSA applications. The training will cover the FAFSA line by line, skipping the basic info and going more in-depth into questions pertaining to student dependency scenarios and which parents students in particular living situation would use on their FAFSA. Filing the FAFSA is the first step to finding money for college! The FAFSA application opens on October 1st. Come and receive FREE individualized hands-on assistance with help from College Depot at this North High School event. Registration is not required, however, you can RSVP to receive a reminder email and/or text for the event. Register here.
