Burton Barr Central Library is hosting an exhibition of paintings by Beth Jorgensen and Alejandra Orozco, titled "Sticky Situations," at the library's @Central Gallery. Join us for a First Friday celebration on May 3rd from 6-8 pm! Enjoy the exhibit with music performed by the Melodic Vibes Guitar Quintet, try your luck with fun raffles, and then hop on the next Artlink shuttle to explore other art happenings in Phoenix!

Jorgensen's work explores the interactions that result when people, who do not know each other, are thrown together on an elevator. These often ironic, humorous or awkward scenarios reveal much about the way different personalities interact.

Orozco's themes center on control, desire and obsession, and in the interaction of the human figure with various pastries, candies and desserts. Her work illuminates issues surrounding the choices we make

The First Friday event is sponsored by Artlink and the Friends of the Phoenix Public Library.
