| Burton Barr Central Library will host an exhibition of paintings by Laura Spalding Best, titled "Interconnections," at the library's @Central Gallery. Best's work explores the collective aesthetic of the urban landscape. Specifically, her paintings separate and celebrate the blights on the vista, and emphasize the unappreciated flaws in our everyday view. Join us for a First Friday artist reception with music by Larkspurs from 6-8 p.m. on June 7. Larkspurs is an instrumental chamber rock quartet that blends a myriad of forms from psychedelia to delta blues. The First Friday event is sponsored by Artlink and the Friends of the Phoenix Public Library. |
