Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan is a service that allows Phoenix Public Library card-holders to get books, audio books, videos, copies of articles and microfilm not owned by the Phoenix Public Library system. Library users may have up to 10 active requests at one time, including items currently checked out.

CDs and DVDs are not available through this service.

Locating and receiving a requested item usually takes two to four weeks. Most items can be picked up at any Phoenix Public Library location. Microfilm can be used at the Burton Barr Central Library only.

Phoenix Public Library does not charge for interlibrary loan services and is able to fill most requests through other non-charging libraries. Some libraries, however, do charge fees ranging from $5 to $20. These costs are passed on to the borrower.

To use interlibrary loan services you must have a current Phoenix Public Library card and no fines or fees over $10.

To place an interlibrary loan request, see your reference librarian or place a request online.

To contact Interlibrary Loan directly, please email pnx@phoenix.gov

Please note: We cannot accept personal or business checks.
