What is Conversations Around Raising Readers?

CARR is a series of 3 community workshops, begun fall 2006, conducted throughout the Phoenix Public Library community.

CARR is intended to help parents and caregivers become their child's first and best literacy teacher.

Sounds, Sights & Stories are the organizing ideas for CARR. Adults and children use these familiar words and concepts to include books, language and literacy in their daily lives.

CARR is supported by a grant from The Arizona Republic.

Program created by Rosanne Dlugosz, Ed.D.
