ABOUT THE EVENT:
The renovation of Ocotillo Library was funded in part by a one-time 2008-2009 Community Development Block Grant Stimulus award to the City of Phoenix under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The number of computer stations has been tripled; and a study room, training lab, new meeting room and First Five Years space were constructed. Total project cost is $1,655,846.

The Ocotillo Library's Workforce Literacy Center will assist job seekers with workforce needs, offering classes in resume writing, interviewing skills, computer use, GED preparation and English as a Second Language (ESL). The library will continue to offer a full range of library services and a collection of materials to support workforce literacy.

The library will re-open to the public at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24 with a grand re-opening celebration on Saturday, June 2.
