WHAT: South Mountain Community Library Celebrates First Anniversary
Media will have an opportunity to cover the first anniversary celebration of the South Mountain Community Library, featuring remarks by Vice Mayor Michael Johnson and the debut of a community poem, "Baseline Blooms," edited by Alberto Rios.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
Remarks will be offered by Vice Mayor Johnson, Ms. Hamilton, Mr. Muir, Ms. Guilds, Mr. Burke and Dr. Olson. Professor Rios will read "Baseline Blooms," compiled and edited by Rios from more than 30 separate entries.

The poem has been recorded for the artistic acoustic chairs in the plaza adjacent to the library - part of a multi-faceted public artwork by Mags Harries & Lajos Héder entitled "Passage."

A performance by the SMCC Jazz Ensemble and other activities for children and their families will continue through noon at the library.
