Project NOOK is a pilot program to provide NOOK e-readers to Phoenix Public Library customers.
Please check availability before you visit: NOOK (version 1.5.0) or NOOK Simple Touch.
NOOKs may be borrowed for 21 days and may not be renewed. Overdue fees apply. The device must be returned to the service 0desk of the library from which it was borrowed. Do not return it in the bookdrop.
NOOKs that are not returned will be deactivated. Customers will be billed for damage, loss or non return of the NOOK and/or peripherals, including easel cover and power kit (power adaptor and USB cable).
You cannot place a hold on a NOOK.
Adult borrowers must sign a loan agreement each time a NOOK is checked out. Teens, ages 12 - 17, may check out a NOOK if accompanied by a legal guardian who will provide ID, accept liability and sign the loan agreement.
Children under 12 years of age may not check out a NOOK.
You must have a valid library card to borrow one. You may obtain a card at any Phoenix Public Library. You can also pre-register online.
Information about using the NOOK you've borrowed is available in the Phoenix Public Library NOOK Guide. You will need access to a personal computer to borrow eBooks and other downloadable material through the Greater Phoenix Digital Library. To learn more about downloading materials, take a brief tutorial.
Additional information about the NOOK may be found at Barnes & Noble.
If you have problems with the NOOK you've borrowed, issues downloading materials from the Greater Phoenix Digital Library, or questions about this project, click on "Ask Us" on the right side of the Library's home page. Select "Help with eBooks and Downloadable Media" under "Email us."
