"The Many Splendors of Taiwan" highlights the folk customs of the Taiwanese people. "Plugging into the World" provides insight into the development of new technologies that have propelled Taiwan from an agrarian past into one of Asia's most advanced e-economies. An official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the exhibits is scheduled at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 12. Hands-on activities for children and adults will showcase the beauty of Taiwanese culture and folk arts.
The exhibits celebrate the 33-year sister city relationship between Taipei, Taiwan and Phoenix. They are coordinated by the Phoenix Sister Cities Taipei Committee and the Arizona Chinese Mandarin and Culture Academy, and presented by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles.
