In his work in acrylic on canvas with gold and copper leaf, Willis explores the transient nature of things, including fame and fashion, the personas we create about famous people, and the personas we create for ourselves. (Click here for high resolution images.)
Willis was a participant in the Phoenix Artists Coalition in the 1980s. He has exhibited at dozens of galleries and museums from California to Maine and in Paris in collaboration with French artist Gregory Bouctot Charneau. He has twice been selected to show at the Southwestern Invitational Exhibition and two times for The Arizona Biennial at the Tucson Museum of Art.
