Phoenix Public Library, Phoenix, AZ. -- September 27, 2012 -- October is Teen Read Month at Phoenix Public Library. To celebrate, the library will host special activities for teens, ages 12 -18, celebrating teens' devotion to certain young adult series including the Harry Potter, Twilight and Hunger Games series.

Free workshops include creating custom t-shirts, decorating reusable canvas bags, making one-of-a-kind pins, a fan fiction writers and illustrators workshop, a trivia contest and more. For a complete schedule of programs and activities, visit phoenixpubliclibrary.org/teens.

By attending a free program, submitting art/writing for the library's teen zine, or writing a book review, teens can reduce their library overdue fees by $5 (up to $50) and enter a drawing to win one of five Google Nexus 7 tablets and other prizes.

Teen Read Month is sponsored by the Phoenix Public Library Foundation.
