Phoenix Public Library, Phoenix, AZ. -- February 19, 2013 -- Burton Barr Central Library, located at 1221 N. Central Ave., will host "Destination Station: Phoenix" and a visit with retired US Air Force Colonel and NASA Astronaut Catherine "Cady" Coleman 1 - 3 p.m. Saturday, March 2.

"Destination Station: Phoenix" is an outreach effort by NASA to share, educate and inspire the public about the International Space Station. The space station is a multi-national research facility and the largest spacecraft ever built. It is an official U.S. National Laboratory, where astronauts and scientists from around the world conduct experiments in life, physical, Earth and space sciences, as well as human health, technologies for space exploration and the improvement of life on Earth. A traveling exhibit associated with "Destination Station: Phoenix" is on display through mid-March at the Arizona Museum of Natural History.

Coleman has logged more than 4,330 hours in space aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia and the International Space Station. She has served as the special assistant to the center director - Johnson Space Center and in mission control for both the space shuttle and space station for a number of years.
