Phoenix Public Library Hosts "Golden Mexican Film Review"   Print this page Print this page
Phoenix Public Library, Phoenix, AZ. -- May 04, 2009 -- Phoenix Public Library will host the "Golden Mexican Film Review" ("Reseña del Cine de Oro Mexicano") from 10:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 9 in the Pulliam Auditorium, Burton Barr Central Library, 1221 N. Central Ave.

Three classic Mexican films, directed by Emilio "El Indio" Fernández, will be screened. Admission is free.

Schedule:

10:30 a.m. - noon "La Perla" - a drama based on the novel "The Pearl" by John Steinbeck

1 - 2:40 p.m. "Bugambilia" - a romantic drama set in mid-19th century Mexico

3 - 4:30 p.m. "Salón México" - a melodrama set in a 1930s cabaret

The films are presented by the Consulate General of Mexico in Phoenix.
