Palo Verde Library Receives Educating Excellence Award   Print this page Print this page
Phoenix Public Library, Phoenix, AZ. -- May 20, 2009 -- Palo Verde Library received the Educating Excellence Award at the 14th Annual Maryvale Dignitary Breakfast on May 16.

The Maryvale Revitalization Corporation sponsors the awards to recognize outstanding citizens, businesses, City of Phoenix agencies/staff and local students for their ongoing efforts to make Maryvale a better place to live, work and raise families.

Palo Verde Library (4402 N. 51st Avenue) was cited for providing service to more than 500,000 customers in 2008, providing early literacy and annual reading programs, adult ESL and computer classes, programs for teens and outreach to the Maryvale community. Among Phoenix Public Library's busiest branches, Palo Verde Library is a 16,000-square-foot facility located in Maryvale Park adjacent to the Maryvale Community Center.
