Phoenix Public Library Celebrates Opening of Agave Library June 20   Print this page Print this page
Phoenix Public Library, Phoenix, AZ. -- May 26, 2009 -- The public is invited to attend the grand opening celebration for Agave Library at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 20, at 23550 N. 36th Avenue.

Councilwoman Thelda Williams and Library Advisory Board member Rosemary Ybarra-Hernandez will officially open the building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by free activities for the whole family.

Designed by Will Bruder + Partners, the 25,000-square-foot regional branch library features a Children's Pavilion, teen space, computer classroom, reading room and community meeting space. (click to view photos) More than 400,000 people will visit the library each year, checking out more than 700,000 items. The project was funded by the 2001 Citizens Bond Program.
