Phoenix Public Library Offers Free Literacy Screenings for First − Third Graders

Phoenix Public Library will offer free monthly literacy screenings for first through third graders, ages 6 - 10, at four locations beginning Aug. 1. The screenings will determine children's reading levels and test for reading problems. Suggested learning activities, materials and referral information will be provided to parents to help children who are not reading at grade level.
Schedule:
The free screenings are sponsored by Season for Sharing/The Arizona Republic and 12 News and presented in partnership with Arizona Literacy & Learning Center. Registration is not required, but space is limited. Phoenix Public Library is a system of 15 branch libraries and the Burton Barr Central Library.
