Thanks to the photographic output of a small squadron of interplanetary spacecraft, we have awakened to the beauty and splendor of the solar system. Since Michael Bensons masterful book Beyond: Visions of the Interplanetary Probes, new, more powerful cameras in probes with greatly improved maneuverability have traversed the wheeling satellites of Jupiter; roamed the boulder-strewn red deserts of Mars; studied Saturns immaculate rings; and shown us our own ravishing Earth, a blue-white orb with a disturbingly thin atmosphere, as it plunges deeper into ecological crisis. These new images are the subject of Bensons Planetfall, a truly revelatory book that uses its large page size to reproduce the greatest achievements in contemporary planetary photography as never before--Provided by publisher.

Photographer Todd Selby is back, this time focusing his lens on the kitchens, gardens, homes, and restaurants of more than 40 of the most creative and dynamic figures working in the culinary world today. He takes us behind the scenes with Noma chef Ren Redzepi in Copenhagen; to Tokyo to have a slice with pizza maker Susumu Kakinuma; and up a hilltop to dine at an inn without an innkeeper in Valdobbiadene. Each profile is accompanied by watercolor illustrations and a handwritten questionnaire, which includes a signature recipe. Reveling in the pleasures of a taco at the beach, foraging for wild herbs, and the art of the perfectly cured olive, Selby captures the food we love to eat and the people who passionately grow, cook, pour, and serve these incredible edibles every day--

A consummate photojournalist, Stanley Tretick was sent by United Press International to follow the Kennedy campaign of 1960. The photographer soon befriended the candidate and took many of JFKs best pictures during this time. When Kennedy took office, Tretick was given extensive access to the White House, and the picture magazine Look hired him to cover the president and his family. Tretick is best known today for the photographs he took of President Kennedy relaxing with his children. His photographs helped define the American family of the early sixties and lent Kennedy an endearing credibility that greatly contributed to his popularity. Accompanied by an insightful, heartwarming essay from Kitty Kelley, Treticks close friend, about the relationship between the photographer and JFK, Capturing Camelot includes some of the most memorable images of Americas Camelot and brings to life the uniquely hopeful historical era from which it emerged.

Few rides in entertainment history were as exciting, colorful and altogether wild as the one taken by the Beatles in the mid 1960s. As they toured the world from 1964 through 1966, they had with them a very special photographer, their fellow Englishman Robert Whitaker. Bob was with them on the planes and in the helicopters. He made pictures as they recorded their records, then made portraits for the jackets of those discs. Hired by Brian Epstein as things were really taking off for the band, Bob Whitaker was the indispensable chronicler of Beatlemania.

Spanning across the borders of four states is the Colorado Plateau, a region that boasts an amazing diversity of landforms. Over the past forty years, master photographer Bruce Barnbaum has visited this region repeatedly--sometimes several times a year, often staying as long as a month each time. During these visits he has discovered an endless array of awe-inspiring subjects to photograph. Although widely known for his black-and-white images, Barnbaum has been quietly capturing color images all along. Finally, these stunning images have been published in his first book of color photographs. Photographed with the eye of a true artist are the remarkable colors of Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Factory Butte, Colorado River Plateau, White Cliffs, Painted Desert, and so many other locations. Barnbaums images reveal the hues and layers of the various minerals found throughout the region and the breathtaking landforms that were created over millions of years of faulting, folding, uplifting, and being buried under glaciers and seas. In a series of short essays throughout the book, Barnbaum shares his stories, thoughts, and feelings about this majestic territory--from his first introduction to the Canyon Country in 1975, when it was little-known and rarely photographed, through the changes he witnessed over the years as more and more people visited the area, and finally to the irreversible effects the multitudes have had on it. These 93 full-page color photographs, each with an accompanying description, are certain to captivate, inspire, and above all, encourage a new appreciation of the wonder of our planet--

There is still very little known about the life of Vivian Maier. What is known is that she was born in New York in 1926 and worked as a nanny for a family on Chicagos North Shore during the 50s and 60s. Seemingly without a family of her own, the children she cared for eventually acted as caregivers for Maier herself in the autumn of her life. She took hundreds of thousands of photographs in her lifetime, but never shared them with anyone. Maier lost possession of her art when her storage locker was sold off for non-payment. She passed away in 2009 at the age of 83.
