Iraq, 2005. Seven mercenaries hear an enticing rumor: somewhere, in the swirling desert sands, lies an abandoned Republican Guard convoy containing millions of pounds of Saddams gold. The mercenaries form an unlikely crew of battle-scarred privateers, killers and thieves, veterans of a dozen war zones, each of them eager to make one last score before their luck runs out. After liberating the sole surviving guard member from U.S. capture, the team makes its way to the ancient ruins where the convoy was last seen. Although all seems eerily quiet and deserted when they arrive, the men soon find themselves caught in a desperate battle for their lives, confronted by greed, betrayal, and an army that wont stay dead.--From cover p.
They are the Outcasts. Because people dont want to know what they do. Alex Brandenburg: SEAL Chief Petty Officer and Outcasts Team Leader. Disobeyed direct orders by refusing to let a deadly terrorist live to kill another day. Francisco Pancho Rodriguez and John Landry: SEAL Petty Officers First Class. Took the pursuit of justice into their own hands with explosive results. Catherine Cat Fares. Navy Petty Officer. Holds an unbeatable record for pissing off the top brass with her strongly stated opinions on the combat readiness of women. The teams mission: Take out the seven terror merchants vying to take Bin Ladens place. The teams status: Expendable. When Americas controversial Phoenix Program was buried during the Vietnam War, a new program rose from its ashes. A top-secret Special Operations unit, with a core mission to combat terror wherever they find it, Bitter Ash grew ever more necessary in a new world of Islamic fanaticism. Now, Bitter Ash is forming a special team, a SEAL Team Six with a difference. It is Tier One, on par with SEAL Team Six and Delta, but it will report directly to Bitter Ash, and its fight will take place under the cover of dark. With Bin Laden dead, the petty leaders within al Qaeda struggle to assume his role at the top. The president of the United States doesnt want any of them left to dominate . . . and that means he has only one choice. But doing whats needed without political repercussions will take a small team flying under the radar. A team capable of finessing the U.N.s distinctions on national sovereignty and acts of war. A team like the Outcasts. With no official support from their government and no one to rely on but themselves, the Outcasts must track down each target. Hot on the tail of the third, Brandenburg and the team start to realize that they are closing in on a larger plot, one that puts the security of the United States in dangerous jeopardy. The terrorists are threatening American territory once again, and the Outcasts will have to do what SEALs do best. Whatever it takes to keep their country safe.

Dr. Laura Pavlov, an American forensic archaeologist, is about to unravel a mystery that promises to shed light on one of the 20th centurys greatest enigmas. A member of an international team digging on the outskirts of the present-day Russian city of Ekaterinburg, where the Romanov royal family was executed in July 1918, Pavlov discovers a body perfectly preserved in the permafrost of a disused mine shaft. The remains offer dramatic new clues to the disappearance of the Romanovs, and in particular their famous daughter, Princess Anastasia, whose murder has always been in question. Pavlovs discovery sets her on an unlikely journey to Ireland, where a carefully hidden account of a years-old covert mission is about to change the accepted course of world history and hurl her back into the past - into a maelstrom of deceit, secrets, and lies. Drawn from historical fact, The Romanov Conspiracy is a high-tension story of love and friendship tested by war, and a desperate battle between revenge and redemption, set against one of the most bloody and brutal revolutions in world history.--Publisher.

With U.S. intelligence agencies wracked by internal power struggles and paralyzed by bureaucracy, the President was forced to establish his own clandestine group, Covert-One. It is only activated as a last resort, when the threat is on a global scale and time is running out. In northern Uganda, an American special forces team is decimated by a group of normally peaceful farmers. Video of the attack shows even women and children possessing almost supernatural speed and strength, consumed with a rage that makes them immune to pain, fear, and all but the most devastating injuries. Covert-Ones top operative, army microbiologist Colonel Jon Smith, is sent to investigate the attack and finds evidence of a parasitic infection that for centuries has been causing violent insanity and then going dormant. This time, though, its different. The parasite had been purposely kept alive and crudely transmitted in acts of terrorism. Now the director of Iranian Intelligence is in Uganda trying to obtain this biological weapon to unleash it on the West. Smith and his team are ambushed and cut off from all outside support just as they begin to suspect that forces much more powerful than the Iranians are in play-forces that can be traced to Washington itself.

But life tosses Blake a curve when his country approaches him about using his special skills to avert a terrorist plot to detonate a nuclear device in a major eastern U.S. city. To do that, he would need to become an operative deep within Al-Qaedas innermost circles--changing his entire identity, even his face. A true patriot, Blake makes the journey into a shadow world that leaves friends, family and, seemingly, even God far behind. But when things go terribly wrong, and his country looks set to destroy him, it is God and Gods people who intervene.--Dust jacket.

Two years ago, SAS hard man Simon Tabor got away with murder. Tabor prefers to call it retribution -- retribution for the brutal rape and killing of his younger sister in a brothel on the Costa del Sol. Now hes been unofficially drafted in by the Met to help in a new murder inquiry. A young girl has been washed up on an English beach with an intricate orchid tattooed -- a similar design to one discovered on his dead sister. As Romanian brothel owners are being ritually slaughtered around Britan, in Spain a millionaire orchid expert nears the end of a sinister experiment in bioengineering. Tabor begins to see a pattern emerging. The patterns key is the tattoo. The tattoo marks the death of mankind as we know it...

Stone finds that what should have been a throwaway case instead leads right to a powerful mob boss with a notoriously bad temper and long reach.
In ancient times, a Golden Capstone was placed atop the Great Pyramid at Giza during a rare solar event called the Tartarus rotation. Once every 4,500 years, a superhot sunspot - the Tartaus sunspot - aligned itself with Earth and caused immense worldwide flooding and sun-scorching. It is said that when the Capstone sat atop the Great Pyramid, no such flooding or solar damage occurred. And, according to legend, whosoever places the Capstone on the pyramid at the next Tartarus Rotation will gain absolute power over Earth for the next 1,000 years. In 2006, the Tartarus Rotation will come again, but the capstone is nowhere to be found. With the fate of global dominance hanging in the balance, nearly every world power sends forth its troops to locate the Capstone. Among them are the United States, the European Union, Israel, ruthless terrorists, and one other unusual force: a coalition of seven smaller nations that have decided that the capstone is too powerful for any one country to hold. So they band together against all odds and send an eight-man team to take on all the great forces in the chase. Led by an Australian super-soldier named Jack West, Jr., the team includes a Canadian professor, two crack Irish commandos (one of whom is female), a Spanish paratrooper, a Jamaican soldier, an arab commando, and a daredevil New Zealand pilot. And with them always is a little girl named Lily, the ten-year-old daughter of the Oracle of Siwa - one of only two people in the world who can decode an ancient text that leads to the Capstone. This stalwart group embarks on a global journey filled with booby-trapped mines, stupendous ancient wonders, gigantic evil forces, and adventure beyond imagination.--BOOK JACKET.
