Since our last update in regards to the restoration efforts at Burton Barr Central Library, a lot of work has been done behind the scenes. While construction projects progress within the building, ensuring key library services continue at other Phoenix Public Library locations temporarily, and with partners and community collaborators within Central Phoenix remains our priority.
Active restoration work is underway at Burton Barr Central Library. Insulation replacement in the walls and ceilings, wall taping and texturing, floor prep for carpet and dry wall installation are part of the ongoing construction efforts for floors 1-4. It is anticipated that work will begin on the roof and 5th floor fire suppression system before the end of the year.
