​Request a Hold

Phoenix Public Library provides customers full access to the circulating collection. You may place holds on all circulating items by searching the online catalog and selecting the "Place a Hold" button next to the item. 

  • Number of Holds (at any one time): 6, including "Ready for Pickup" and "Hold Requests" 
  • The Library card used to place the hold is required to check the item out.

If you are unable to find an item on the shelf, ask a Library staff person, who may be able to locate the book at one of our other locations. If the item you want is unavailable, you may request that the item be placed on hold. You will be notified by phone or email, depending on the instructions you gave us when you first signed up for a card.

Once available, the item will be held for pickup up to 10 days (from the date the notice was sent) at the library location you designated.
