RedwallRedwallJacques, Brian.4450501Book0399214240

"Redwall is the first in a lovingly written series of anthropomorphic woodland creatures in a fantasy setting of adventure and family. They always makes me feel nestled at home. Jacques writes each character in a way that makes them feel alive, even the smallest of mice or the most reclusive of hedgehogs. The protagonists have a personal quest to learn more about themselves and save their friends from terrifying villains, in scenes of growth and emotion that often make me a little misty-eyed. Not only are the books filled with heart-racing action and puzzles, but they're filled with quiet moments of warmth with songs and descriptions of feasts that Jacques makes you feel like you're a part of. I've reread this series dozens of times, and I'm never less enthralled by the stories or less attached to the characters that make this world. They'll always have a home on my bookshelf."

- Matthew W.

*&query=&page=0&searchid=2312

This series is awesome too because there are some 'advanced' words in the text but the book itself would explain the meaning to the reader.
