College Depot at Burton Barr Central Library provides free year-round programming targeting various topics of the college planning process such as creating a college timeline, preparing scholarship essays, and applying for financial aid. 

During the academic School year:
Workshops on various topics including college exploration, financial aid, scholarship searching, and more are presented free of charge and open to the public. Registration is required for some programs as seating might be limited.

FAFSA Assistance 
FAFSA Assistance is provided to students and their families through specialized programming to assist with the FAFSA application and creating FSA IDs through hands-on small groups and workshop sessions during the peak financial aid season. Registration is required for some programs as seating might be limited. 

 
During the summer:
Summer Workshops
College Depot Summer Sessions workshops are FREE, fun-filled programs are designed to help students plan for college. Topics include: Essay Essentials, Scholarships + Financial Aid Essentials, Test Prep Essentials, Study Skills + Organizational Techniques, Postsecondary Pathways, Apprenticeship Essentials, and a spanish-language session called ¡Caminemos a la Escuela! which is oriented to Spanish-speaking parents.

f you or your student will be in the 11th or 12th grade in Fall 2019, live in the city of Phoenix, and are interested in a career in public service, also consider the JEM Leadership Academy, which will occur during June of 2019! View the flyer for more details, here. College Depot Workshop Room Reservation Request:
College Depot offers room reservations for three different sized rooms in our center. Room reservations are available to educational non-profit organizations. Please email college.depot@phoenix.gov or call 602.261.8847 for any questions.

The Phoenix AKARAMA Foundation in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated - Delta Beta Omega Chapter presents the 2019 Black, Brown College Bound Scholarship Boot Camp for High School Seniors and Community College Transfers. 

You will have the opportunity to understand the college application process, apply for scholarships, the secrets to create a good essay and how to have a good mind set when preparing for college.

Please note that there is free parking available in the Burton Barr Central Library parking lot.

Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided!
